Become a certified professional in Requirements Engineering and Management
The International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) is a leading nonprofit organization that aims to advance the Requirements discipline. IREB has established a Certification Program for Requirements Engineering (CPRE), which is recognized worldwide. The exams are administered by the International Software Quality Institute (iSQI).
The program consists of four levels:
- Level 1: Foundation Level
- Level 2: Practitioner Certificate (formerly Advanced Level Practitioner)
- Level 3: Specialist Certificate (formerly Advanced Level Specialist)
- Expert Level
This course will prepare you for the exam Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering Requirements RE@Agile Level 2: Practitioner. You will meet the criteria set by IREB and learn the international standards, methods and techniques for Requirements Modeling.
After obtaining the Level 2 Practitioner certificate you can take the exam for the CPRE RE@Agile Level 3: Specialist certificate.

The workshop is suitable for you if you have been involved in Requirements Engineering for some time, you want to delve further into applying it within an Agile process and/or want to obtain the internationally recognized IREB Certificates.

- Requirements Engineers, Business Analysts, Information Analysts and Functional Designers
- Architects, developers, scrum team members, product owners, Scrum masters and anyone who wants to delve into Requirements Engineering in an Agile context
Prior knowledge or training
- Candidates for the CPRE Requirements Management Level 2: Practitioner examination must already have received the CPRE Level 1: Foundation certificate or BCS Practitioner certificate in RE.
- Candidates for the CPRE Requirements Management Level 3: Specialist examination must have received the CPRE Requirements Management Level 2: Practitioner certificate.
Structure of this training
The workshop consists of a classroom component and a self-study module. The classroom part includes two highly interactive days. All material required for the exams can be found in a digital learning environment, supplemented with practice exam questions. The exams are optional.
- The Level 2: practitioner exam: this is a 75-minute multiple-choice exam that tests your knowledge of the core concepts and techniques of Requirements Engineering. If you need to take the exam in a language other than your native one, you can request a 15-minute extension. You can take the exam right after finishing the training course, or at a later time of your choice e.g., in a test center
- The Level 3: specialist exam: this is a paper-based exam that requires you to write a report on a realistic project situation from your own experience, demonstrating your ability to apply the acquired RE skills. To take the Specialist exam, you need to have the RE@Agile Practitioner certificate
